FREE VESSEL SAFETY CHECKS AT
F&S YAMAHA & MARINE!
9:30AM to 1:00PM, Saturday, 26 April 2008

Your local US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla is offering Free Vessel Safety Checks on April 26, 2008 at F&S Yamaha & Marine in Spring Grove. Stop by anytime with your boat between 9:30AM and 1:00PM. The inspection only takes about 20 minutes.

This yearly safety check assures the owner/operator that they have a boat that meets Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission requirements and all the equipment on board is in good order and correct. A decal is awarded each year if you pass the inspection.

Make sure your boat is equipped for another enjoyable season on the water. Be a smart, safe boater get your free safety check every year!

An example of some of the items checked include:

Personal Flotation Devices (life jackets)
Registration and numbering (PA-Bold Solid Color Letters, Contrasting, 3 inch minimum)
Navigation lights
Ventilation
Fire extinguishers
Distress signals (flares, horn, etc.)
Battery cover and connections

All of these items are currently required by state and federal laws and, if missing or non-operating, can result in a citation if your vessel is inspected by the Coast Guard. The Vessel Safety Check gives you a risk-free way to check that you meet the legal minimums and to potentially avoid a citation later.
